In 1974, Senior Class Board moved prom out of the SC track and into a larger venue, McCormick Place. Swanson was one of two seniors chosen from Illinois to receive this honor. Jane Swanson ’74 became the second LT student to be named a Presidential Scholar and was invited to dine at the White House by President Nixon.

LT saw its highest enrollment during the 1971-1972 with a record-setting 5,220 students.
